Lisboa Story Centre
As part of the annual activity plan, the Social Sciences Department organised a school trip to the Lisbon Story Centre on Tuesday, 7th May, for the Languages and Humanities students from grade 10B, the Visual Arts students from grade 10C and 11D.
The Lisbon Story Centre provided a unique experience as students stepped into the memories of the city of Lisbon, from its foundation to the present day. The exhibition consists of six sections that are divided into a selection of 17 chapters, in which the information is given at the visitor’s own pace using an audio guide.
The exhibition includes elements of interpretation shown through film, in the virtual animation of stories and landscapes, the physical reconstruction of historical spaces and episodes, the replica of vessels and architectural structures, the large-scale printing of period illustrations and in the projection of diaporamas.
There was also a theatrical performance, História ao Vivo, an initiative which allows visitors to meet and speak with a historical character from the city of Lisbon, who shares memories about his life, the city and the country. In this case, it was Marques de Pombal.
