Happy Birthday Pi!
On 14th March, the world celebrates the anniversary of the number Pi, a number with a multitude of decimals.
All over the world this number is celebrated on this day, March 14th, a date that corresponds to the first numbers of the number Pi, 3.14.
Several activities were held at the school to mark this day. The students from Junior School sang happy birthday to Pi and wrote poems in honour of this number and to mathematics. Some of these are on display at the Junior School reception.
You can also visit another exhibition in the library, where Alex Bellos turns Pi into art. He is the author of the book Snowflake, Seashell, Star: A Colouring Adventure in Numberland, one of the author’s bestselling Alex's Adventures in Numberland.
Also, Ellie Balk's artistic project is featured in the different receptions in the school, in which the artist explores patterns, colours, music and Pi, associating its digits with each of these themes and producing a pattern that is reproduced in the streets under the title Street Art.
We look forward to your visit!
