The Navigator Company
On 8th February, the Social Sciences students in grade 10 visited the industrial complex of the Navigator Company, in Setúbal, one of the largest companies in the country, holding a key role in the national economy.

The group was greeted in the auditorium where a brief presentation was shown about the company’s mission to produce paper in a sustainable way, from planting the forests to producing the cellulose paste used in paper.

Then followed a visit to the factory floor, where students saw the transformation of the paste into paper, the cutting procedures, packaging and storage. They also saw the machine control rooms, as this company operates with a high level of automation, as well as quality control rooms.

At the end of the visit, the students' involvement and enthusiasm was reflected in the very relevant questions that they asked of the engineer who accompanied us.

We hope this company continues to contribute to improving the quality of life in communities and to the development of the national economy.
