Secondary Youth Parliament

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”

Nelson Mandela

Another school year, another session of the 'Secondary Youth Parliament' initiative at St. Peter's International School, sponsored by the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth (IPDJ).

With a constructive and selfless, ambitious and hardworking spirit eager to shape a better future society, on 11th January our secondary school students presented the School Session. With a series of debates among the students, this year's theme was 'Climate change: reversing global warming.'

The event opened with the participation of the Vice-President of the CDS-PP political party and leader of the parliamentary group, Nuno Magalhães, who kindly accepted our invitation. During his intervention, Mr. Magalhães explained the 'Members' participation in the Portuguese Parliament (Assembleia da República)'.

This activity was extremely enriching and counted on the performance of our Members who showed remarkable consistency of speech, perseverance, integrity, capacity for mutual help, geniality and respect in the pursuit of the 'Youth Parliament' project.
