Visit to the University of Coimbra – Secondary School
Last week, 11th and 12th grade students went on a trip to the different faculties of the University of Coimbra, the oldest university in Portugal and one of the oldest in the world.
The Science and Technology students visited the courses related to health and engineering, which are taught on three sites. They tried out some practical activities by visiting laboratories and classes, where the students learned about the study of diabetes, the production of medication, robotics, among other activities.
In the Socioeconomic Sciences and Languages and Humanities courses, the students learned about the degrees in law and economics, they visited the faculty of letters and psychology, and also experienced the business reality of the region, with a visit to Plural - Cooperativa Farmacêutica, CRL. In addition, they had a historic tour of Coimbra, where they visited the Old Cathedral and the Church of Santa Cruz, as well as the cryptoportico at the Machado de Castro Museum.
The Paço das Escolas, Quinta das Lágrimas and the Santa Clara-a-Velha Monastery were some of the places also visited by all the students, allowing us to get to know the history of Pedro and Inês de Castro.
These were days filled with learning experiences and exchange of ideas.
